Zes maanden eruit liggen, en daarna opnieuw een aanvraag indienen. Zo voelt een registratie in het Centraal Register Uitsluiting Kansspelen. Wie tóch wil doorspelen, klopt aan bij een casino zonder CRUKS – een aanbieder met een buitenlandse vergunning, die het Nederlandse register niet hoeft te raadplegen en je dus ook niet tegenhoudt. Wat CRUKS wel en niet doet

CRUKS is een Nederlands instrument. Buiten Nederland heeft dat register geen enkele rechtsgeldigheid. Een casino met een Maltese of Curaçaose vergunning is er niet bij aangesloten en hoeft dat ook niet te zijn. Daar zit meteen het addertje: de bescherming die CRUKS biedt, verdampt zodra je de grens over gaat.

Licenties: waar je echt naar kijkt

Een casino zonder CRUKS is niet per definitie onbetrouwbaar. De vraag is wie de vergunning afgaf, en of die autoriteit daadwerkelijk handhaaft.
